Postal kicked off and were immediately called into defensive action, with Mitchell Phillips producing a vital clearance at the back post following a dangerous Westdyke corner in the second minute.

James Steele then delivered a threatening ball into the Westdyke box on eight minutes, forcing the visitors to throw bodies in front of the ball before eventually clearing their lines.

However, Westdyke began to threaten at the other end. On 11 minutes, a misplaced pass from Andreas Jones allowed the visitors to play a dangerous diagonal ball in behind, but their number nine dragged his effort wide.

Steele continued to cause problems from set pieces, floating a free kick into the box on 16 minutes which Luca Guilanotti headed towards goal, only for the Westdyke goalkeeper to hold comfortably.

Two minutes later, Westdyke’s number 11 produced an excellent flick to release their striker, who again failed to hit the target. Postal were unable to escape punishment for their defensive errors, though, as a misplaced pass from Aaran Burns allowed the Westdyke number nine to race through and chip the goalkeeper to give the visitors the lead.
