Postal travelled out to Tarves for this Division 2 league game, in recent memory Postal have left empty handed when facing Tarves away from home so the boys would need to be firing on all cylinders to take the 3 points. Tarves sat 1 point behind Postal prior to kick off in the league table, Postal looking to close the gap between them and the league leaders.

Postal kicked off the encounter and straight away MacAuley took control of the ball and marched forward, before standing on the ball and ending up 10 ft in the air. This would be the only fault on the day for the tall striker who has been in top form of late, leading the line and creating chaos for the opposition defence faced to date.
Postal started the better of the two teams moving the ball and playing good football.
On the 7th min the first Tarves number 8 got caught on the ball by Wallace, who plays in MacAuley, with only the keeper to beat Postals number 9 rocketed the ball over the bar. Great chance to take the lead.
10th min Webster wins the ball and releases Abel down the Postal left, Abel releases Harry who crosses the ball evading the Tarves defence to find Sultan coming onto the ball to slam it home. Great goal all set up by the ever eager Webster who has made a terrific start to the season.
0 - 1
Postal were having a lot of joy down the Tarves left with Webster continuing to win the ball or collect from the keeper starting the move off as Postal pushed and probed for the next goal.
18th min Webster releases MacAuley down the left channel who crosses for Ahmed however his header goes wide.
22nd and 25th min Wallace and Dowbekin try their luck from range wide and saved respectively.
29th min Tarves had their first glimpse on goal. Riddell wins one tackle in the centre of the park but cant win the second 50/50. Ball is pushed through to number 9 who in a foot race with Brechin does well to get a shot in on goal however is tame and Cormack follows the ball watching it go out of play.
30th min Brechin wins a header from a throw in on the Postal right. The ball goes skyward and when it lands number 10 slips it to number 9 who is denied by Cormack at point blank range. Great save by Cormack.
32nd min MacAuley wins the ball and breaks down the right. Twisting and turning he gets his cross into Wallace who cant find the target.
35th min MacAuley would get his just reward. Chasing down the keeper the ball lands at the feet of number 8 who is disposed by Wallace. Wallace then slips in MacAuley who fires home. Great goal
0 - 2
38th min Riddell is booked for a fair looking challenge.
39th min Tarves win a corner, number 5 heads towards goal only to see his shot blocked, number 7 follows up and appears that Riddell clears on the line.
On the 43rd min Postal should have scored another goal. Wallace plays a great ball out to Abel on the Postal left, Abels cross is met by Ahmed who chests the ball down, composes himself and shoots with his left foot however the Tarves goalkeeper makes a great save.
44th min Stuart replaces Brechin.,
45th min Dowbekin is booked.

The second half would be a more even tie although Postal certainly had the better of the chances.
55th min Tarves number 7 shoots over from range.
60th min Dowbekin pulls the shirt of a Tarves player and is rightly sent off. Stupid foul from the midfield dynamo given he was warned not to give the ref a decision to make at half time.
With Postal reduced to 10 Tarves began applying pressure, however not having any real clear cut chances.
65th min Tarves won a corner, swung into the middle of the Postal goal Ahmed gets under the ball and number 5 powers a header past Cormack.
1 - 2
70th min Wallace should have scored with a diving header following good work from Abel and Riddell.
75th min Mackenzie replaces MacAuley.
77th min Abel booked.
81st min Abel takes the ball off the left back, plays in Wallace who strides past his man however shooting wide.
82nd min Andreas replaces Ahmed.
85th min Buggie replaces Abel.
86th min Andreas booked for shooting into net when whistle was blown.

Overall great performance from Postal today. Some great football on display in the first half and second half grit and determination to not allow Tarves any real clear cut chances although being down to 10 men. End of the midweek games sees Postal sit in 5th place, 3 points off the top as the boys look to string together a run before the Christmas break.
Well played,
