Postal ALC Chairman John Fowlie worked tirelessly all week ensuring Webster Park was in great condition as Postal welcomed Glasgow Southside to Webster Park.
The Glasgow side have been in great form in their respective league racking up an impressive goal tally whilst hardly conceding as they top their division. Postal have been on great form of late so the crowd expected to see a great game.
With Luca Giulianotti unavailable due to work commitments Captain James Steele took his place in the starting 11.
Postal lined up as below:
Grant Cormack
Bruce Webster
Vinnie Buggie (S)
Euan Brechin
James Steele
Keiron Dowbekin
Steven Abel (S)
Alex Clark
Harry McAuley (S) (Y)
Phil Wallace (S) (Y)
Sultan Ahmed (S)
Bench:
Andreas Jones (S)
Fraser Smith
Adam Veitch (S)
Andrew Riddell (S)
Mark Robb (S)

Postal ALC delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, combining early intensity, clinical finishing, and defensive resilience to secure a commanding 3–0 victory over Glasgow Southside.
Fast Start the Difference
Postal kicked off and immediately set the tone. Their bright opening was rewarded in the 4th minute, when Brechin’s clearance found Wallace in space. Wallace released Harry down the right, who unselfishly squared for Sully. The striker made no mistake, rifling a left-footed finish into the net to make it 1–0.
Barely a minute later, Postal’s pressing nearly doubled the lead—Harry snatching possession high up the pitch before firing wide from a tight angle. The early aggression forced Southside into fouls, though the resulting free kicks came to nothing.

Glasgow Southside grew into the contest around the 11-minute mark, forcing a corner that Buggie calmly dealt with. Moments later, a dubious challenge on Clark went unpunished as Southside’s No.7 rose to win a header, only for Cormack to save comfortably.
Wallace threatened repeatedly from set pieces—free-kicks in the 14th, 18th, and 33rd minutes either hitting the wall or being saved—while Abel and Harry both won corners that kept Southside pinned back.
From one such corner in the 26th minute, Steele recycled the ball superbly, feeding Abel to cross, but Brechin couldn’t quite convert at the back post. Another dangerous Abel delivery in the 38th minute saw Brechin head over as Postal ended the half on top.

Postal Turn the Screw
The second half began with Postal on the front foot again. In the 45th minute, Alex released Harry, whose cross picked out Phil, but the volley drifted wide.
Harry picked up a yellow in the 47th minute, but he didn’t let it affect his play. Just a minute later, he linked excellently with Sully, who played in Webster. A superb switch to Abel allowed the winger to take a touch and coolly chip the keeper from 18 yards—a composed, classy finish for 2–0.
Wallace was booked on 50 minutes, but Postal were rampant now. In the 53rd minute, Abel won a crunching 50/50, the ball broke to Sully, and the forward unleashed an unstoppable strike—“two keepers wouldn’t have saved it.” Postal were cruising at 3–0.

Cormack’s Heroics Shut the Door
A rare lapse in the 55th minute gave Southside a route back when No.2 burst to the byline and Webster’s sliding challenge was judged a penalty. But Cormack produced a superb save low to his right, preserving the clean sheet.
Two minutes later, Southside’s No.7 shot looked destined for the top corner, but Cormack somehow tipped it away—another outstanding stop, arguably better than the penalty save.
Postal nearly added more: Wallace headed wide on 60 minutes, and brilliant play between Doug and Sully saw a Wallace effort deflected over at 63. Doug was booked shortly after.

Late Control and Southside Frustration
As the game wore on, Postal managed proceedings professionally. In the 80th minute, Doug robbed Southside’s full-back and fed Wallace, whose driven effort forced a spectacular save.
Southside’s frustration boiled over as their manager was sent off in the 85th minute, before Brechin headed over another Abel corner in the 88th.
There was still time for Postal to threaten again—Steele slipping Doug in, who played a perfectly weighted ball to Andreas, only for the shot to go wide.
Southside’s No.2 was sent off in stoppage time to cap a miserable afternoon for the visitors, while Postal saw out the remaining moments with ease.
