AC Mill Inn 2 - Postal ALC 1 - Div1 North - Stonehaven Astro - 10th May 2025

Postal travelled to Stonehaven to take on AC Millin in a winner takes all match.  Postal needed 1 win from the last two matches of the season to ensure a 5th place finish and 1st Division football next season.

AC would kick off the match.

Postal would advance up the field on the 9th minute Lee Scott playing the ball up the line to McAuley who slipped in Russell who cant control and get his shot off.

15th minute a Carter foul on number 10 seen Finch pull off a fine save from the free kick.

19th minute Abel presses the full back who plays the ball back to his centre half.  McAuley nips in and robs the centre half finding himself one on one with the keeper.  McAuley tries to lift the ball over the keeper but seen his shot well saved.  A real opportunity for Postal to strike first blood.

20th minute a Russell shot is well saved by the keeper. 

25th minute Wallace free kick over the bar.

30th minute AC play the ball out to their centre half.  Unchallenged he advanced deep into the Postal half before releasing the winger out on the Postal left.  Winger cut the ball back to find the AC forward who dispatched to give the homeside the lead.

Almost straight after AC had a free kick some 25 yards out from the Postal goal.  Number 12 struck the ball and it landed in the top corner of the goal.

45 min corner, back out to Stuart, crosses. Bruce Webster scores for Postal 2-1.

52nd minute Wallace hits a free kick that is blocked by the wall.

55th Wallace has a shot on goal after Scott advanced into the AC box however the shot was well saved.

At this point it was all Postal dominating and driving forward trying to get a goal back. 

65th minute Carter is replaced by Mackenzie due to being on a booking. 

74th minute MacKenzie has a shot on goal off target.

79th minute Abel has a double shot in the box blocked both times.

80th minute Veitch replaces Scott.

87th minute McAuley robs centre half and advances toward goal however is crowded out before getting his shot off on goal.

94th minute Brechin header from a corner goes wide.

Postal dominated the match however simply could not score a second.  Disappointing first goal to loose as the AC pattern of play was discussed prior to the match.
