OPPOSITION MOTM – N/A
A competitive match in the first half saw Postal roll over and get their belly's tickled in the second half of this match.
Lads Club were the better of the two teams first half, but at least Postal were making a half decent competition of it.
Postal were dealt a blow in the first 15 minutes when Law had to come off with a hamstring strain. Beattie replaced him in the centre of the park.
The home side took the lead on 29 minutes when the Postal keeper fumbled the ball in the box from a cross. After a short stramash Lads Club forced the ball home. 1-0.
A minute later and Beattie was ordered off for a petulant swing of his arm towards an opposition player directly in front of the referee. Luckily for Postal the ref allowed a sub to come on and Robertson replaced him.
On 33 minutes Frampton scored a good goal for Postal after a decent pass from Mewse over the top found the forward on his own on the keeper and he did well to keep his composure and bury it over the keepers head.1-1.
Only 5 minutes later, though, LCA were back in the lead. A run down the Postal left saw the ball cut back into the feet of the in-running striker from deep who finished from distance low into the Postal net. Poor marking and concentration all round. 2-1.
HALF TIME – LADS CLUB AMATEURS 2 - POSTAL ALC 1
Postal made more changes at half time to give boys game time but it was Lads Club who would dominate the second 45.
After only two minutes the portly Lads Club striker found himself with acres of space and time in the Postal box to pick his spot as the Postal defence looked on admiringly at him. 3-1.
Postal had a chance to pull one back on 20 minutes when Robertson was sent one-on-one with the keeper but he couldn't convert.
A minute later Lads Club scored their 4th when a simple long ball beat the Postal defence although the forward did well with a long lob over Laing in goal to score. 4-1.
A 5th came soon after on 30 minutes. 5-1.
Insch pulled one back for Postal after good work from Frampton on the Postal right saw him send over a low cross for Insch to knock home at the back post. 5-2.
Lads Club scored a 6th with a header after incredibly poor marking, at a corner, from a Postal team now looking like they'd rather be back in lockdown than running around Westhill. 6-2.
Lads Club finished off the scoring on 43 minutes when Patterson was caught with the ball at his feet in the middle of the park. The forward raced through and slotted past Laing as if he wasn't there. 7-2.
Overall, a competitive match is exactly what Postal needed and this provided just that (although Lads Club might think differently). Lessons were learned from the managements point of view and friendly, or no friendly, Postal will be under no illusions that losing 7 goals in any game is unacceptable.
