OPPOSITION MOTM – N/A

Postal ALC travelled to Kincorth to take on the Premier league challengers. Kincorth, should they win their game in hand, will be top of the league and have a wealth of talent and have been free scoring this season.

The weather conditions weren’t particularly good for football with high winds however Postal had 18 personnel to choose from.

Grant Cormack replaced David Finch in goal, Adam Veitch came back into the team with Neil McDonald dropping out due to injury. Alli Macrae was also introduced, with Euan Brechin, Martin Maciver dropping to the bench.

Kincorth kicked off the match shooting into the wind, the home side clearly knew how to play the conditions and from the outset were playing the ball long.

On the 1st minute a free kick on the Postal right seen the left back play the ball diagonally to the right winger number 13 who seen his header over the bar. A sign of things to come for Postal.

On the 3rd minute the Kincorth left winger would test Cormack out with a long range shot well saved.

5 minutes into the encounter Postal ALC would fall behind. Another diagonal from the Kincorth left back found number 13 free at the back post and he riffled his shot into the goal at Cormack’s near post. Particularly frustrating given the warning signs early on and the Postal sideline asking for more stringent marking of the Kincorth right winger. 1-0

The game at this point went dormant with the ball in the air for the majority of the half and both teams trying to fight for supremacy in the middle of the park.

On 30 minutes Dunc Mac had a shot on target that the Kincorth keeper dealt with well.

39 minutes Postal would go 2 behind, a Corner from the Postal right seen number 13 climb highest and head the ball into the Postal net. Slack defending again. 2 – 0

39th minute Kincorth number 10 had a stinging shot which Cormack saved well.

Half Time Kincorth 2 – Postal ALC 0

The second half shooting against the wind Postal struggled to get out their own half, on the 46th min Kincorth number 10 had an opportunity from a corner heading wide.

On 50 minutes with Kincorth peppering the Postal ALC goal another shot bulleted in which Cormack done well to save.

71 minutes a seemingly simple challenge by Carter was afforded a straight red card by the referee to the bemusement of the Postal sideline.

Kincorth would go on to head against the Postal ALC bar by their substitute coming on at centre half and Andrew Baxter would also head against his own bar in an attempt to clear the ball.

Full Time – 2 - 0

Unused Subs – David Finch, Ross Michie

Overall Postal ALC competed well against the Premier League side however didn’t really trouble the home side. Frustrating in the fact that Kincorth didn’t really have to work for their goals.
